Around the same time, Aflalo co-wrote and co-starred in the comedic short film "Alone Together" (2015) with Esther Povitsky, about a mismatched pair of young adults traversing the world together. Two years after the short's production, it would go on to inspire a half-hour comedy series. Aflalo and Povitsky were once again cast as leads in "Alone Together" (Freeform 2018-), which was this time produced by Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island colleagues Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone.
